Grade 2 - Mrs. Vinette

Mrs. Sandra Vinette

1. What do you teach at St. Mary’s Academy?

“I currently teach second grade.”

2. What do you love about St. Mary’s Academy?

“St. Mary's Academy has a unique family atmosphere. I have met many very caring people here that are my very closest friends, some of them colleagues, and some of them parents or former parents.”

3.Why do you like teaching at St. Mary’s Academy? What motivated you to become a teacher at St. Mary’s Academy?

“I have remained here for over 20 years. Once I taught here I didn't want to go anywhere else. I never seriously pursued another full time job anywhere else because I am truly happy
and comfortable teaching in this building. I consider it my home. Home is where you can teach, live, and love freely. I am able to base everything I teach on the love that Jesus has for all of us.”

4. What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

“I have a good deal of knowledge in technology in the classroom and use it often. I also have an art background. Some of my other strengths are in science, math, and writing. I have some effective methods for helping students develop writing skills. But my most important contribution to my students would be in my faith in God.”

5. What sets St. Mary’s Academy students apart from students in other schools?

“St. Mary's Academy students are kind-hearted and family oriented. Their parents are very connected with their education and the students are motivated learners.”

6.What do you want your students to gain from having known you?

“My goals for my students every year are that they become motivated, confident, independent, and responsible learners now and in their future academic endeavors.”
