2. What do you love about St. Mary’s Academy?

“What’s not to love about St. Mary’s?!!  I love everything from the bright welcoming building to the ability to incorporate Jesus into our everyday teaching!  I also love the small community feel where teachers and parents work together to help our students reach their fullest potential.”

3. Why do you like teaching at St. Mary’s Academy? What motivated you to become a teacher at St. Mary’s Academy?

“I enjoy coming to work each day not only because the kids make every day a new adventure, but also because I get to work with a staff that is professional and supportive of each other.   Everyone is extremely dedicated to the school, the students, and the families who entrust their children to us every day.

I always loved working with children, so when my own children were old enough to attend school, I went back to college to get my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education.  I was lucky enough to student teach at St. Mary’s Academy.  I had an incredible experience which made it difficult to leave at the end of my placement, so when a position became available I applied, interviewed, and landed the job!”

4. What is a unique experience, talent, or interest that your bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?

“I spend a lot of time finding new and exciting ways to present information to my students to help make their learning fun.  I am also a mom, and that is a skill set that helps me connect with my students while creating a learning environment where they feel safe and loved.”

5. What sets St. Mary’s Academy students apart from students in other schools?

“The students at St. Mary’s Academy are compassionate, kind, accepting, respectful and motivated to learn.  They encourage each other which helps create a safe atmosphere in which our students are comfortable enough to try new thing without fear of making mistakes.”

6. What do you want your students to gain from having known you?

“I want my students to leave my room remembering two things.  One is that learning can be fun, and the other is that if they persevere they can accomplish anything!!”
